Here's an update on the ways I'm trying to make extra money for this ride and its amazing cause
(which I'll be posting a whole lot more of)
- I've started selling magnets I make on cardboard at a local art gallery called Bricolage
- go check the shop out, or buy magnets or other art directly from me!
- my art: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jesstornga/sets/72157627003376533/
- the gallery where you can get my magnets: http://bricoshoppe.com/
- soon I might start selling handmade goodies on etsy.com, so keep checking in!
- I'm grabbing up as many hours at my current job as I can get (I work at a daycare)
- I will be cooking dinners for friends and asking for donations of ten dollars per person
- I make a mean spinach manicotti, and vegan chocolate chai cookies (if you're into that)
- Soon I will also be shaving my head and am looking for the best way to turn that into a fundraiser. Perhaps by gathering a large group for a potluck-type dinner, with at the door suggested donations and having a silent auction while people eat.
- A silent auction to shave my head, maybe having people bidding on shaving a few stripes, or to shave it into a mohawk, or to shave it completely.
- if you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them
- I have a habit of playing ukulele [badly] and dancing [badly] downtown for personal entertainment and will start bringing a sign stating my cause and a can or hat for donations
- and, unrelated to Bike & Build, I will be doing the Polar Bear Plunge benefitting Make A Wish on January 1st. I mention it because it is AWESOME, and you should do it! Or at least come out to watch it and laugh at me.
SO keep checking this blog for info on my latest adventures and ways you can come out and support me / opportunities to laugh at me.
